Your Ultimate Two Harbors Wine Fest Itinerary

Day 1: Get ready for adventure

Book a hotel in Avalon, where you can spend Friday and Sunday adventuring or relaxing in the sun. Both Hotel Atwater and Pavilion Hotel are amazing, centrally-located, and offer perks like free daily beverages, baggage service, and more. Once you’ve checked into your room and dropped off your bags, choose your activity for the afternoon:

  • If you’re a first-time visitor, check out the Discover Avalon Tour, which will give you a great overview of our picturesque little town.
  • Looking for more of a safari-style adventure? Take a trip to Catalina Island’s beautiful interior on the Bison Expedition and see if you can spot one of our furry islanders.
  • For the ultimate adrenaline-seeker, the Catalina Zip Line Eco Tour might be the perfect activity. Fly through our treetops at 35mph!
  • Descanso Beach Ocean Sports offers a variety of rentals, including kayaks and snorkels, so you can grab some gear and hit the water at your own pace.

Day 2: Two Harbors Wine Fest

Head over to Catalina’s charming west end village on day two to attend the Two Harbors Wine Fest! This one-of-a-kind event features complimentary appetizers, a souvenir wine glass, live music, and more!

5 Tips to Ensure You Have the Best Time at Two Harbors Brew Fest

  1. BOOK YOUR TRANSPORTATION IN ADVANCE
Guests already on the island can travel over to Two Harbors from Avalon on the Discover Two Harbors Cyclone Power Boat. Headed straight to the event? Book the ferry directly from San Pedro to Two Harbors on the Catalina Express. Limited availability for both options, book in advance to guarantee your spot.
  2. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
You will be walking in the sand to each booth to sample different wines, so wear something comfy for standing and dancing on the sand. Since it's mostly outdoors, grab your sunglasses and SPF. And remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint!
  3. HYDRATE THROUGHOUT THE DAY
With around a dozen participating wineries, hydration is the name of the game. Drink plenty of water before the event and try for a glass of water between each tasting. This way, you’ll be sure to get back to your boat or hotel safely. Also, be sure to help yourself to the complimentary appetizers during the event.
  4. DON’T FORGET YOUR SOUVENIRS
There are a few great ways to remember your time at Two Harbors. First, make sure you stop by the merch station at the event to load up on Wine Fest branded t-shirts, tank tops, and more! Then, make your way over to Two Harbors General Store to snag some merch dedicated to the island’s West End. And with the amazing event backdrop, you are sure to have plenty of photos by the end of the day (tag @discovertwoharbors to share those memories with us!)

Day 3: Post-Event Relaxation

Once you’re back in Avalon, there are lots of ways to relax and unwind after a long day in the sun. Check out of your hotel, ask them to store your bags, then head off to one of our great venues:

  • Grab some shade and maybe a nap in a Descanso Beach Club cabana or chaise lounge, where you’ll have a server ready to bring your lunch straight to you.
  • Stake out a spot at Flx Biergarten, where you can have a cold beer, play some cornhole, and catch a game or two on TV.
  • Get to know the marine life around the island with the Undersea Sub Expedition or Glass Bottom Boat Voyage- both are perfect for marveling at fish and getting some time out on the water.
